- Abstract
- The paper first describes the main aim of the MONADS project, I which is to develop and investigate techniques for improving the quality of software engineering for large systems, and the main technique under investigation, the information-hiding principle. Then follows a brief overview of current hardware and software research to support information-hiding systems. The purpose of the paper is to introduce and provide background information relevant to five companion papers.
