Abstract
This paper discusses the parallelisation of the shallow water equations, which provide a simple mathematical model of the behaviour of a tank of shallow water. This paper begins with a discussion of the shallow water equations, and the common techniques for solving them. It then gives a very brief overview of the computer architectures we have considered in this study. A description of the techniques used to map the code onto these machines is given, followed by some experimental results.
